JNU A Unit Admission test on Saturday, 51 candidates for each seat

Jagannath University (JNU) is all set to conduct the A Unit on Sunday, February 22, 2025. This year, a total of 44,223 candidates will participate in the admission test for 860 seats. So, 51 candidates will appear on the test for each seat.

University Registrar Professor Dr. Giasuddin shared details about the exam. According to the schedule, the test will be held in three shifts due to the large number of candidates. The first shift is from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, the second from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, and the last from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

After almost 4 years, Jagannath University left the Cluster Admission System. Those students who successfully applied for the admission session 2024-25, will be studying hard for the admission test. Many feel both excited and nervous because of the tough competition.

If you are going to participate in the JNU A Unit Admission, have a look at the schedule given below;

  • First shift – 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM
  • Second shift – 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
  • Third shift – 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Admission Test Structure

This year, the exam will follow the university’s own rules to conduct the admission test. The test will have a total of 100 marks, including multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and written sections. The MCQ part will be worth 24 marks, while the written section will carry 48 marks. Students’ academic records will also count, with 12 marks for their SSC GPA and 16 marks for their HSC GPA.

  • Multiple-choice (MCQ) section: 24 marks
  • Written section: 48 marks
  • SSC GPA contribution: 12 marks
  • HSC GPA contribution: 16 marks

Experts have praised the university’s fair admission process. “The new system fairly measures both academic results and skills,” said an education expert.

Earlier, Jagannath University successfully conduted the admission test for E Unit on January 31, 2025. As per the admission circular, JNU D Unit exam was taken on February 14 and B Unit of February 15, 2025. Now, candidates of the both units are waiting for the admission result.

This year, the primary application process was started online on December 1 and ended on December 15, 2024. After two days, the Eligible candidate list was published on the admission portal. Those who are selected, invited to submit the final application till December 30, 2024.
